Course details

We look forward to welcoming you to Ace the OSCE, an established emergency medicine OSCE preparation course delivered more than 50 times since 2016.

The course is designed for candidates preparing for the ACEM OSCE and focuses on practical exam performance, communication, SCBD, structured clinical reasoning, and examiner-calibrated OSCE practice. Teaching includes exam tips, useful heuristics, performance strategies, and trial OSCE stations reviewed for domain relevance and quality.

Evening Taster: Online

The June evening session is a free online introduction to the course. Laura, one of our recent prize-winning candidates, will lead a focused discussion on your current approach to OSCE revision and preparation for exam day.

The session will include sample stations, group discussion, and practical advice on how to structure your preparation. It will run approximately 1900–2030 AEST via Zoom, with reliable back-up arrangements in place. A recording and course materials will be shared with registered participants after sign-up.

Whole-Day Course: Westmead Simulation Centre

The July in-person course provides a full day of coached OSCE practice at the Westmead Simulation Centre.

The morning focuses on trial OSCE stations with immediate examiner-style feedback. The afternoon includes more challenging stations, room-specific individual coaching, and opportunities to work directly with FACEM faculty experienced in OSCE preparation and exam success.

Participants will be videoed during practice stations and provided with direct, specific post-hoc feedback on their OSCE performance.

A follow-up call will be offered 1–2 weeks after the course to answer questions and support ongoing preparation. Additional before-and-after support from the FACEM educator team will be available as required.
