Welcome to the pre-reading (flipped classroom) for the Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG) Procedures Workshop.

This workshop in various forms is run on a yearly basis for the students at Westmead.

Station 1 – Basic Airway Management

Station 2 – Intubation and LMA

• Focus on Basic Intubation Technique

• A C-mac Video Laryngoscope will be available for demonstration of anatomy

Station 3

• Seldinger Technique
  • We will be using a simple part task trainer and expired single lumen central lines for this station

Ultrasound and FAST scans

 

Station 5

• Vascular Access
  • Intravenous (IV) Access
    • a focus on alternative measures to obtain access (discussion and USS demonstration)
  • Intraosseus (IO) – use of the EZIO drill to obtain IO access
